a story in three acts ...
a site-specific installation, 2nd floor, Yue-Kong Pao Hall, Purdue University.
There once was a cactus. Who fell in love with a balloon. The relationship did not last long. This series explores how size can change the way we view a work. By printing the three Polaroid images over 10x their original size, and placing them in a hallway where the viewer is unable to look at them from a distance or all at once, they are forced to be confronted by the details. Like the stitches disrupting the chemistry of the Polaroids, changing the image ever so slightly, we all bring our own experiences to the work and will read a simple narrative in very different ways.
